An Egyptian novelist, scriptwriter, and producer with several films that have garnered significant critical acclaim and popular reception. His debut feature film, Photocopy, won multiple awards including Best Film at El Gouna, Tripoli, and Malmö film festivals. He also won the 2018 Best Screenplay award at the Oran Festival. His second feature film, Gunshot, was showcased at Cairo, El Gouna, and Malmö festivals. His film A Stand Worthy of Men achieved tremendous box office success, becoming the highest-grossing Egyptian film in Saudi Arabia. Critics credited it with bringing Arab audiences back to cinemas after the COVID-19 pandemic. He also released Another One, one of the highest-grossing films in Egypt.

He produced several feature and short films, such as “The tale of Daye’s family” which selected in Berlinale and premiered in Red Sea Film Festival, the short feature Eyebrows, which won Best Film at El Gouna Festival in 2018 and Best Actress at the Elia Festival, where it was also nominated for Best Screenplay and his film Maqsoum received critical acclaim and several awards at the Casablanca Festival.

He has a diverse body of literary works spanning novels and poetry, many of which have topped bestseller lists. He won the Ahmed Fouad Negm Award for his poetry collection Devoured by Seven Lean Cows, and his novel Moses' Cross received widespread critical and public acclaim, followed by his novel Publication Ban.
