Maram Taibah
Maram Taibah is a Saudi screenwriter and film director, based in Jeddah. Her portfolio boasts several short films including one that she’s written and directed called Munukeer (2015), which was screened at the Dubai International Film Festival. Additionally, her short film Don't Go Too Far (2018) was a winner of a Golden Palm Award at the Saudi Film Festival, in 2023, and was chosen by actress, Bella Thorne, to be among the "influential shorts" selected at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, Italy.
Her latest short Malika is a fantasy coming-of-age film, nominated and funded by Film AlUla, premiered at Red Sea International Film Festival. Taibah was also a writer on Champions, which was nominated for the Best Film award at the Red Sea International Film Festival, 2021. She is also the author of a children’s fantasy book called Weathernose, which is available on Amazon.
Beyond the set, Maram loves gardening, period fashion, and singing at the top of her voice when she’s alone in the car.
