Farah Jouni
Lebanese by birth, raised in Jeddah, and currently based in Riyadh, Farah Jouni has dedicated herself to her love of storytelling and artistically observing and expressing the human condition.
Currently, Jouni is the Distribution Manager at Telfaz 11 Studio. She is also independently producing “Malika”, a short film by Saudi writer and director Maram Taiba, winner of the Al-Ula Creates initiative by Film AlUla which was recently premiered at Red Sea International Film Festival.
Previously, she played a key role in developing the award-winning short film The Last Dismissal by Saudi director Jowaher Alamri, produced by Jean Luca Chakra (Front Row) and Norah Alkhateeb (Cats Films).
Farah's background includes a brief tenure as Development Manager at Sirb Productions. She co-founded and led the Film Department at We the Loft in 2012, during the rise of digital platforms like YouTube and Twitter. Additionally, she served as Event Manager for the first edition of the Red Sea Film Festival. From her time at We the Loft to her position at the Red Sea Film Festival, Farah was strategically positioned to witness the transformation of Saudi Arabia's film industry from digital to cinema.
Farah's early involvement in the film community through We the Loft and her upbringing and education in Saudi schools have given her a deep understanding and relatability to Saudi culture and society. This foundation has made her an influential figure within an industry she believes in wholeheartedly, and she continues to contribute passionately to its growth and success.
Beyond the set, when Farah’s not filming, she’s probably exploring a foreign country as a solo female traveler. Maybe not Italy as she likes her pasta with a side of French fries. And believe it or not, she’s far from being a film buff.
