Hadi El Bagoury
Hadi El Bagoury is an accomplished director with diverse experience in cinema, TV dramas, commercials, and music videos. In 2000, he co-established his production house, The Producers, through which he created “A'ard Khas” (2010), the first 16mm series in the Arab world.
His directorial debut in cinema, “Wahed Sahih” (2011), opened the Muhr Arab Feature competition at DIFF and earned him the Best Directorial Debut award at the Egyptian National Film Centre. He also directed “Warda” (2014), the first Egyptian found-footage feature, and “Hepta: The Last Lecture” (2016), which became the highest-grossing romantic film in Egyptian cinema history, earning him multiple awards. His latest film is the second part “Hepta: The Last Debate”.
El Bagoury's film, “The Guest” (2018), received the audience choice award at the Malmö Arab Film Festival in 2019 and the audience award for Best Film at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in 2018.
He directed the TV series “Safah El Giza” (2023), which became the most-viewed show on Shahid within a week, and “Finding Ola” season 1 and 2 (2022), the third-ever show in Variety Netflix Worldwide.
El Bagoury has directed many successful music videos for prominent Arab artists like Samira Said, Mohamed Mounir, Tamer Hosny, and Amr Diab. As a TV commercial director, he won the Gold Award at the Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity in 2016, having directed over 200 ads for global and regional brands across various industries.
